The Face Shop Water Fit Tint | Review

Updated: Aug 22, 2021

We're done with the first two weeks of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon, Philippines and I am about to lose my mind! So I followed the quarantine tips or shall I say.. "quarantips" to avoid cabin fever. I tried to be productive! And mission accomplished!

Before I head on to this review, let me extend my gratitude to the bravest frontliners of this pandemic. We can never do what you do and we all owe you our lives! 🤗

I had a chance to review this product after I received it as a Christmas gift from my college friends last December. This was on my five-item wishlist and two of them bought these. It was on a Buy1Take1 sale so now I have four of them! *swatch party ensues*

This is The Face Shop Water Fit Tint!

I received two of the same shade (02 Pink Mate) so these are the shades I will be reviewing:

  • 02 Pink Mate

  • 03 Picnic Red

  • 04 Red Signal

If I am not mistaken, this is the re-branding of the discontinued The Face Shop's Watery Tint. This new packaging is a part of their new line, fmgt, which stands for (1):

FASHION | MAKEUP | GLAM | THE FACE SHOP

But on their website, it doesn't show up on their PRODUCT LINE - MAKEUP tab, only on the LIPS - LIP TINT / LIMP PLUMPER tab. I don't quite understand that.

Let's compare the old and new packaging.

Both versions weigh 5g / 0.17oz. per tube, still applied using a doe foot applicator, and comes in a plastic tube. But the newer packaging surprised me with a clear and glassy-looking doe foot applicator stem. It looks gorgeous! It's one of the distinctive differences between the two packagings.

The fmgt version also chose black details: black fonts and a matte black twist-off cap. It has let go of the white-on-white innocent look.

It's like a teen star suddenly debuted as an older and wiser celebrity ready for more mature and bolder roles. This teen star decided to move on from starring in rated G teen dramas. That's what the font choice speaks to me! 😂

Another similarity is that the two versions could last twelve (12) months after opening.

Between the two, the older formula smells sweeter. The newer version is quite like sour candy-scented. I like the latter more. The formula is not that different, too. I swear. Nothing much really changed!

Top to Bottom: 04 Red Signal, 03 Picnic Red, 02 Pink Mate

SWATCH TIME!

02 PINK MATE: a bright, neon pink

03 PICNIC RED: a strawberry juice red

04 RED SIGNAL: a raspberry jam red

In this line, I am only missing two shades: 01 Rose Pink and 05 Cherry Kiss. I would love to get those two shades (especially Rose Pink!) but I think it's out of stock here in the Philippines.

This lip tint is not drying at all. When I apply it, I use a lip balm underneath. It also does not come off easily. This is also long-wearing! It could reach up to 6 or more hours if you eat non-oily meals and snacks. Drinking water does not also rub it off easily!

Honestly, there's not much of a con for this lip tint. Other than the unavailability of the two other shades. Everything still is within The Face Shop's expected standards. Maybe even better.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I still absolutely love this! Between the three shades, I overuse 03 Picnic Red the most. The 02 Pink Mate is a little too bright for me and the 04 Red Signal is the one that I would wear if I'm feeling a little feisty (and that happens rarely).

I think I'm gonna love 01 Rose Pink as well. I SHALL LOOK FOR IT SOON!

This collection is 100% a recommended product from me and I hope you will like too! At Php 250.00, it's within the budget of every makeup lover out there. Double win if goes on Buy1Take1!

'Til the next review,
