Potaytoe. Potahto. Tomaytoe. Tomahto. Sunscreen. Sunblock.
Whatever you may call it, one thing is for sure: WE ALL NEED IT! The sun truly is life-giving, but it is also skin-problems-giving. Exposing the skin to the sun can cause pigmentation, dark spots, wrinkles, or even skin cancer!
And for that, my pick for this review is the Belo SunExpert Perfecting Shield Tinted Sunscreen. That was a mouthful! 😅
This year, I have used three products from #Belo: the acne pimple gel, whitening deodorant, and this featured sunscreen. The former two have given satisfying results. With this sunscreen, let's find out and see below.
The Belo SunExpert Perfecting Shield Tinted Sunscreen is available in 50ml (Php 449.75) and in 10ml (Php 169.75). It is available at all leading drugstores, department stores, and online stores. The one I have is the 10ml variant which comes in a small plastic tube with a twist-off cap. It is very tiny and can fit in your smallest vanity bag. It is very much similar to acne gel or eye cream packagings.
I noticed that the 50ml variant offers different shades and not on this 10ml variant.
This sunscreen boasts its SPF 50 PA++++, tone adapt technology, and Cell Protect® features. These are the additional factors as well:
Paraben-free.
Non-comedogenic.
Hypoallergenic.
Dermatologist-tested.
USAGE
Tap before use. Apply a small amount onto face and blend evenly with your fingertips.
Can serve as primer substitute.

Time to screen this sunscreen.
Before you use any product, try to read the instructions carefully. Out of excitement, I immediately pushed out the product out of the tube only to be surprised by clear, oily liquid. I thought there was something wrong with this sunscreen. But lo and behold, I did not shake it well before using. It's a must for most sunscreen products to be shaken a little bit. Sunscreen formulation changes in different temperatures.
I first tried this sunscreen during an outdoor trip to a lake. That was not one of the best decisions I made this year. (See the damage here and how to undo it.) If you are going to swim and get wet, make sure to use waterproof sunscreen. Opt to use this Belo sunscreen only for normal days.
The photos below show how the product looks like on the skin.
Photo 1: Bare face (except eyebrow tint).
Photo 2: With sunscreen.
Photo 3: Sunscreen with camera flash.
TEXTURE: Smooth and satin-y finish. Dries matte quickly.
SCENT: True sunscreen fragrance. But not too overpowering.
PIGMENT: Gave my skin a slight tone up. But it does not cover any spots or blemishes.
I have tried this on its own after my moisturizer. For acne-prone and combination skin, you need to set it with powder. After a few hours, you may feel oily and slick. But it's tolerable. If you have dry patches, that may be a problem because the product clings on to dry areas.
Although I have tried using this under a liquid foundation without any problems. It sits well with the other products on my skin. As you can see in the third photo, there is very minimal white cast under camera flash.
PROS
Paraben-free + Non-comedogenic + Hypoallergenic + Dermatologist-tested = SUITABLE FOR MOST SKIN TYPES!
No overpowering smell.
Travel-friendly.
Affordable. For this 10ml variant.
CONS
No coverage. But hey, it's sunscreen, not foundation.
10ml will run out fast!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Before this sunscreen, I had been using the Biore UV Watery Essence. And that one is a lot different from this Belo sunscreen. Using this product was a completely different experience.
Finally, I understood what others claim regarding the complexity of sunscreen. The white cast, smell, texture, etc. I guess it's really one of those products that will take a while for you to find your perfect one.
There are a ton of sunscreen products out there and honestly, I am afraid of using anything else besides this and the Biore one. They've both been outstanding although different in some ways.
So.. do I recommend this sunscreen? YES. Yes, I do.
