COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch | Review

Back in March, I had an awful bout with breakouts. There were a couple of products that I decided to try to combat them. Apart from all the face wash, creams, and treatments, I also tried a pimple patch. For that time, it was the COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch.

I have already tried the red variant before this one. (You can read my review right here.) And it gave me applaudable results. I loved it! While I was trying that, I have heard of its slimmer, and thinner sister. *she a skinny legend I GUESS*

I was intrigued and promised I'll get it once I use up all of the patches.

The COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch only has 18 patches of one size (10mm), unlike the COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch with 24 patches in 3 different sizes.

FEATURES

This hydrocolloid dressing intensively extracts impurities while creating a protective barrier that guards external irritants. This ultra-thin patch will give you a natural look by covering blemishes during the daytime. For intensive care, please use COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch.

DIRECTIONS

1. Before application, clean your face and hands well.

2. Peel back an appropriately sized patch and completely cover on the blemishes.

3. Replace patch with a new one when it turns white and has absorbed oils.

4. If wearing makeup, apply the patch first.

5. Change your patch daily or as needed.

INGREDIENTS

Cellulose Gum, Styrene Isoprene Styrene Block Copolymer, Polyisobutylene, Petroleum Resin, Polyurethane Film, Liquid Paraffin, Tetrakis Methane

The BIG difference from it's older version is the PRE-CUT base. What's so good about the pre-cut base? It can save you from the trouble of lifting the patch from the base without messing it up! To the ladies with short nails, it will be hard to take out the patch. Several patches have folded on their own and I wasn't even able to use them. Such a waste!

With the pre-cut base, you can pull back the thin base to lift half of the patch easily.

HOW DID IT GO?

Like the classic version, the Clear Fit Master Patch does the job. It cleans out a 'pustule' (pus-filled acne) and keeps it away from dirt. It is slightly thinner than the Acne Pimple Master Patch, but it is not entirely invisible on the skin.

The "matteness" is not that excellent. Liquid make-up slides and moves away from it. When you set it with powder, it looks like you have dry skin on the patch area. Thankfully, we started wearing face masks as early as January of this year so I didn't worry about it so much.

The effectiveness of clearing out acne depends if it's a pustule, papule, or nodule. Obviously, it will be much quicker if the acne has already come to a head. But it does lessen the redness and pain on deep-seated acne. Although, I would rather suggest other spot treatments for that kind.

PROS

  • "Pre-cut" base keeps the patch from sticking to itself, hence, avoiding unnecessary waste.

  • Affordable.

  • Not irritating.

  • Safe to use.

  • Keeps your hands away from your acne. Stop touching it!

  • Protects your acne from irritants.

CONS

  • The patch is still noticeable on the skin, even under make-up.

  • Hi, COSRX, make it 20 patches, please! The 18 patches just seems a bit off.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I still love this and its classic version. But if you're looking for something else, other brands have released their own pimple patches. These are hard to get in the Philippines (only online, if I am not mistaken) so you can opt for those instead.

But whatever the brand is, if you have the habit of constantly touching your face as I do, you might want to get a pack of patches to save your face from your nasty hands.
