Face Republic Sleeping Beauty Face Mask in Healing Tea Tree Oil | Review

Updated: Apr 19, 2020

I've never really been fond of sheet masks and there's only a handful that I have tried. Sheet masks tend to be super heavy on my oily skin. The only time I use sheet masks is that if they're stored in the freezer for quick and refreshing relaxation.

But I am determined to look for that PERFECT sheet mask made for me. So I still buy different kinds whenever I have the chance.

And for this review, we're looking into the Face Republic Sleeping Beauty Face Mask in Healing Tea Tree Oil.

I bought two pieces of this #sheetmask last December 2019 from BeautyMNL's Holiday Sale (Php 39.00 each, regular price: Php 49.00). This one's on my wishlist for so long together with its Innisfree, Nature Republic, and The Face Shop counterparts (which are all at Php 75.00 per piece). But this one's on sale so we have a winner!

Besides this Healing Tea Tree Oil variant, they have other choices with honey, lemon, cucumber, rice, snail, and aloe vera essences.

This is the first skincare product I've tried from Face Republic. I was excited because the brand has been garnering decent reviews from the local scene. One thing that made me buy this is seeing MADE IN KOREA in the package. That's a big deal for all skincare products. South Korea is the major hub for all skin needs!

Tea Tree Goodness. 🍵

First of all, I stored this sheet mask in the freezer like I always do. When I tried the first mask, it was an okay experience. I removed the face mask after 20 minutes like all the other masks available in the market. The scent was very light, you can barely smell the tea tree oil. But that's alright with me. The essence also wasn't too overflowing. That's one of the things I do not like about sheet masks. I am not the most economical person so I give no time to put the excess in another container.

ALSO: THIS MASK STILL HAS THE PART FOR YOUR EYES.

It's kind of cute and funny.

Make sure you wouldn't want to do anything else while wearing this mask. Maybe it is really intended for sleeping, hence, "Sleeping Beauty Face Mask"?

So the second time I used this sheet mask, I tried to make the most out of it.

I knew I would be up all night doing endless presentations. Before I began, I opened the last pack (slightly frozen) and carefully placed it on my face. I worked an hour or two on the presentation before I realized the mask has already dried completely so I removed it. After making the presentation, I immediately went to sleep.

The morning I woke up, my first instinct was to touch my face. To my surprise, the sheet mask made my face really soft and kind of supple. I looked in the mirror and saw that I did not look super tired. It's like I wasn't cramming on a presentation the night before!

PROS

  • Affordable.

  • Lightweight on the skin.

  • Makes your skin soft and supple.

CONS

  • I think it's only available online. Not in physical stores.

  • It didn't do much for my acne. (Probably because I only used two sheets? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

FINAL THOUGHTS

I recommend this sheet mask to those who are looking for lightweight formulas. Although, do remember I let the mask dry on my face completely until it fell off. It has almost dried completely. So that may be it. I also recommend this if you'd like to treat your whole face, and I mean your WHOLE face because your eyelids will get treatment, too.

I hope this goes on sale again on BeautyMNL because I am a cheapskate like that. A Php 75.00 sheet mask just doesn't sound so good for my wallet.

And that's the tea for today. 🍵
